Increase Your Fuel Efficiency With These 5 Tips
Whether you are running errands, driving the kids all over the place for their activities or you’re going on a summer road trip, you don’t want to spend a ton of money on gas to get to your destination. Save on gas without giving up the driving with these five tips for getting greater fuel economy.

1. Don’t Rush
If you regularly drive over 60 mph or if you are making excessive stops and starts in your driving around town, you’re likely wasting a lot of gas. Try driving slower during highway driving and being more patient while you’re driving around town. This will help to increase your fuel economy while at the same time, help to decrease your chances of requiring vehicle repairs.

2. Proper Tire Inflation
Under-inflated tires can wreak havoc on your vehicle’s fuel economy. All cars require a different amount of tire pressure, so it’s important to check your owner’s manual for the proper pressure required for your specific tires. By properly inflating your tires according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, you’ll see the difference it makes in your vehicle now using less gas.

3. Planning Ahead
Let’s face it, unnecessary trips can waste a lot of gas. Try to plan your day around completing multiple tasks and running several errands in one trip, instead of two or three.

4. Traveling Light
The heavier your car, the worse your fuel economy will be over the miles. Only keep the essentials in your vehicle for everyday driving. Chances are your trips will not need as much gas and the drives will be more pleasant and less jam packed with stuff to.

5. Get Auto Repair When Needed
When your vehicle is exhibiting issues that require auto repair, it can certainly take a toll on your fuel economy. Your gas mileage can decrease quite a bit if your car is undergoing issues like clogged air filters, faulty oxygen sensors and other problems that can have a damaging impact on your fuel economy.
